Access Permissions and User Roles

The user roles within the Vallia AUS Sandbox application are established based on the permissions set in the Loan Origination System (LOS). Each role has a distinct set of features they can access within the AUS Sandbox. These roles provide varying levels of access, control, and modification capabilities, depending on the responsibilities and requirements of the user within the loan process. For instance, some roles can only view or submit loan scenarios, while others can update the LOS with new or modified details from the AUS Sandbox application. This structured access ensures that each user in the loan process can perform their specific tasks efficiently while maintaining data integrity and security.

  1. Loan Officer:
  • In the AUS Sandbox environment, loan officers have the capability to submit to both the Desktop Underwriter (DU) and the Loan Process Advisor (LPA) at the same time. The DU and LPA are automated systems used to evaluate the risk and eligibility of loans, delivering recommendations that guide the decision to approve or reject a loan application. The simultaneous submission to both systems allows loan officers to procure a holistic assessment of a loan from two distinct perspectives. This multi-faceted analysis contributes to a more informed decision-making process and ensures that the loan application is thoroughly evaluated. The ability to submit to both DU and LPA concurrently is a feature of the AUS Sandbox designed to enhance the efficiency of the loan underwriting process and provide comprehensive, detailed information on each loan.

  1. Underwriter:
  • Submitting DU & LPA: Underwriters, alike to loan officers, have the ability to make submissions for both Desktop Underwriter (DU) and Loan Product Advisor (LPA) within the AUS Sandbox environment.
  • Updating LOS: Beyond the capability of making submissions, underwriters can also update the Loan Origination System (LOS) with new information or changes made within the AUS Sandbox application.

    Granting Access to Encompass eFolder Documents for Loan Officer/Underwriter

  • When running DU, the document will be uploaded to the Encompass eFolder. To ensure that both the underwriter and loan officer have access, follow these steps:

    1. Navigate to Settings.
    2. Go to Company/User Setup.
    3. Select Personas.
    4. Choose Loan Officer and Underwriter.
    5. Under each persona, go to eFolder.
    6. Select Unprotected Document & Protected Document
    7. Ensure the Edit Document option is checked.
